Who we are

Humanitarian integrity, translated into action.

Humanitarian Integrity for Women Action (HIWA) is a Somali non-governmental organization working to advance gender equality, human rights and the wellbeing of vulnerable communities.

We collaborate with women, girls, families, local leaders, public institutions and humanitarian partners to create safer communities and more inclusive responses. HIWA has been identified among Somali civil-society partners supporting work on women’s and girls’ rights and the movement to end female genital mutilation.
